ClankerMarket Roadmap: Where We're Going

The platform is alive and in constant development. Here's the honest state of what's coming: what's confirmed, what's under evaluation, and what we decided not to build.

What's working today

Before the roadmap, the context of what already exists:

  • Complete marketplace: registration, products, files on R2, crypto checkout, downloads
  • "The Signal" blog system with scheduled publishing
  • Admin moderation panel with approval/rejection and immutable logs
  • Wishlist, internal notifications, review system with "Verified Purchase"
  • Seller dashboards with 85/15 breakdown and payout status
  • Security: ClamAV, extension whitelist, download limits, rate limiting
  • 177 automated tests passing

Confirmed — in development

Exportable reports for sellers: CSV with sales history by period — date, product, gross amount, commission, net. Useful for accounting and tax filing. In development.

Seller responses to reviews: Sellers will be able to publicly respond to their product reviews. Response moderation included.

Analytics for sellers: Basic per-product statistics: views, conversion, downloads per purchase, monthly evolution. No data from other sellers.

Under evaluation

Multiple licenses per product (personal vs. commercial): Allows the seller to define two prices and two sets of usage rights. Requires changes to the order model and checkout. Evaluating technical impact.

Coupon and discount system: Time-limited or use-limited discount code. Useful for launches and campaigns. Design under evaluation.

"Verified seller" badge: Requires completing profile (avatar, bio, linked social network). Visible on product cards. Pending definition of exact criteria.

Product demo video: Up to 60 seconds, uploaded directly to R2 or YouTube/Vimeo embed. Storage and moderation under evaluation.

Discarded (and why)

VirusTotal API for public badge: VirusTotal's free plan doesn't allow commercial use. The paid plan has a cost that doesn't justify the current benefit given the platform's volume. We keep ClamAV as internal scanning.

Email notifications for every event: Adding emails for every interaction (new review, product visited, etc.) would generate user fatigue. Internal dashboard notifications cover the important events.

Affiliate program: Requires tracking infrastructure that adds significant complexity. Not a priority until transaction volume justifies the investment.

The horizon

The priority for the next 6 months is simple: more sellers with real published products.

All technical features are secondary to that goal. A marketplace with 50 active products and real buyers is more valuable than one with 5 products and the world's most sophisticated system.

If you're a creator with a product ready to go, that's the biggest contribution you can make to the ecosystem right now.
